In March of 1997, Rietto (ex-業 -Karma-) and Misa met and formed Nageki Shito ("Lament Disciple"), along with bassist Shiruku (who was already playing bass in Rietto's former band Karma) and support drummer Oono (also ex-Karma).
The same month they release the first demo tape "TSU...RA..RA".
Their musical visions are quite different from many other visual kei acts, they actually had a personal, unique style due to Misa's compositions; this was the beginning of the legend.
Mixing beautiful classical-inspired melodies with unusual chaotic rhytms, sometimes approaching a weird polka-like sound, and using lyrics with a predominant theme about reincarnation, the overall feeling suits the band's name.
3 months after the formation, they perform 4 lives, and also release a self-titled second demo tape. They disband after that, but that same month, Eruze and Rietto decide to call Misa back to team up with the old Karma vocalist Touya (now known as Pietoro), giving birth to Da'vid/shito:aL.
